Recovery Phase

Drive

The recovery phase is the passive part of the rowing stroke between the finish and the catch. It should be controlled, calm, and technically clean. The sequence is: extend arms, lean torso forward, then roll forward using active leg drive. Therefore, the recovery phase is also called the roll forward.
