Fourth Place at the World Cup in Varese – Women’s Eight with Strong Development

The World Cup regatta in Varese (Italy) marked another important intermediate step on the road to the 2028 Olympics. The German women’s eight, one of the two boat classes supported by AUGLETICS, finished a surprising fourth in the A final behind Great Britain, the USA and Australia. Particularly pleasing: The team was able to narrowly assert itself ahead of Italy – a country that had been faster both at the European Championships and in the lane distribution race on Friday.

A close race developed between the two boats in the final. At 1500 meters, the German boat was 0.97 seconds ahead; in the end, the team saved this lead by 0.01 seconds to the finish. The line-up: Paula Hartmann, Michelle Lebahn, Tabea Kuhnert, Anna Härtl, Paula Gerundt, Olivia Clotten, Lene Mührs, Nora Peuser and coxswain Florian Koch. Despite Annabelle Bachmann’s absence due to illness, the team showed a consistent performance and was able to design the race courageously.
