AUGLETICS is now the official sponsor of the German Women’s Eight and the Women’s Pair without Coxswain. Two boats, one common goal: the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. The start of this partnership will be an international endurance test in Olympic rowing – the European Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, from May 29 to June 1, 2025. Here, the German national rowing teams will meet top boats from Romania, Great Britain, the Netherlands and Switzerland.
In the run-up to the 2025 season, the German Rowing Federation has made a fundamental structural change: Women’s sculls and women’s sweeps have been organisationally merged in order to start the 2025 to 2028 Olympic cycle with combined forces. The new team spirit within the Berlin training group is clearly noticeable, the focus is clear: sustainable performance development over several years. Under the umbrella of this newly formed women’s national rowing team, three boats will start in Plovdiv – including the two boat classes supported by AUGLETICS, the women’s eight and the pair without coxswain.

The Women's Eight and the "Eight Style" – more than just a name

Why these two boat classes in particular? Because the name AUGLETICS Eight is no coincidence. The eight is considered the premier discipline in rowing – powerful, fast and technically demanding. This image is symbolic of our flagship among the rowing machines: the AUGLETICS Eight Style. For us, it was therefore only logical to focus the sponsorship on the eight. With the pair without coxswain, we are also supporting a young, courageous boat that competes with a lot of potential – and is an important part of the women’s national rowing team.

AUGLETICS was founded in 2015 by former competitive rowers – with the aim of building the ideal rowing machine for the home. Quiet, compact, intuitive to use and with a real fun factor. The result is two devices that can do both: suitability for everyday use in the living room and sporting precision for training. The AUGLETICS Eight Style, with its large screen, integrated coach and elegant look, is aimed at anyone who values comfort. The AUGLETICS Eight Sport is the performance-oriented version for anyone who doesn’t want distractions – but pure performance. More information at augletics.de.

Two boats, two perspectives – but one goal

The Women’s Eight, coached by Alexander Schmidt, will start in the following line-up: Judith Guhse (bow), Tabea Kuhnert, Paula Gerundt, Anna Härtl, Annabelle Bachmann, Michelle Lebahn, Paula Hartmann, Nora Peuser (stroke). The boat is steered by Florian Koch. Malou Wollenhaupt and Antonia Labonde are also there as substitutes. The young team, with an average age of 24, is going into the European Championship races with a lot of self-confidence and development potential. Coach Alexander Schmidt aptly describes the current dynamic: “I have the feeling that a special spirit is developing – new stimuli, new images, new connections are emerging.” (Source: rudern.de)

Lene Mührs (22) and Olivia Clotten (23) will compete in the women’s pair without coxswain. The two rowers already gained their first World Cup experience in the eight two years ago, but will be competing together for the first time in an A-competition in Plovdiv. Their coach is Andreas Herdlitschke. The duo are the reigning German champions and are confidently looking forward to a strong field of eleven boats in the international rowing competition.
Both boats have to prove themselves early on in the new European Championship race mode: there are no repechages, which means that only the first two in each heat and the two fastest boats qualify for the A final. There is no leaning back at the start – it is important to give full performance from the first stroke.

AUGLETICS is delighted to be making a real contribution to the further development of women’s rowing in Germany with this partnership. Our goal is to improve the training conditions of the athletes in the long term – be it through financial contributions to training camps or through concrete help in daily training. The connection between our innovative company, sporting ambition and sustainable thinking makes this partnership something very special for us.
